Goals

Your support of the Price Hill Pacer will benefit two separate, yet equally important, community-based programs. Santa Maria Community Services and Price Hill Will have made many strides to better Price Hill and the surrounding communities. All proceeds from the Price Hill Pacer will be donated to these organizations so that they can continue to make our community stronger.

Santa Maria Community Services

Santa Maria Community Services provides Greater Price Hill with educational tools and resources to assist in building strong families, promoting healthy residents and fostering neighborhood revitalization. For more that 100 years Santa Maria has helped families help themselves. Santa Maria's work, in principle, is not that different today than it was at their founding 110+ years ago. Their purpose is still to work closely with those most disadvantaged to help them gain access to the resources they need to improve their lives and to strengthen their families and communities. Whether they are teaching young parents how to help their newborn children thrive, connecting Hispanic/Latino residents to medical care, assisting older adults with access to affordable medications or supporting the work of neighborhood residents to build a stronger community, Santa Maria's goal is the same: to help families and communities help themselves.

Price Hill Will

The purpose of Price Hill Will is to "create a positive revolution in change for our community by using Appreciative Inquiry to engage the 'positive core' of all people and all living systems and to expand that rich potential, creating individuals and organizations that are themselves agents of community benefit. We are building on the many strengths of our neighborhood to make it a better place to live, work and play. That’s why Community Action Teams (CATs) form the core of Price Hill Will. CATs are made up of concerned and interested neighbors who are focused on a specific area. Each CAT has a "bold statement" that sets its goal and guides its work. In short, Price Hill Will builds on what's good about the community, instead of focusing on what's not."
